He may perhaps have come back from the dead, but he won’t be rolled arms loveseat coming back to our screens.
According to a The Hollywood Reporter, Henry Cavill is officially leaving the role of Superman in the DC Film Universe, following rumors of the actor’s departure.
Warner Bros. had planned for Cavill—who played the hero in Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and Justice League—to make a cameo in the upcoming superhero flick Shazam!, but a source says this fell apart due to scheduling issues. (This might or could not have anything to do with Cavill’s new role in the Netflix Witcher series.) Quickly right after, the source stated contract negotiations fell apart, officially ending Cavill’s tenure as Clark Kent/Superman.
The actor responded to the reports with a cryptic (or need to we say kryptic?) Instagram video. The post shows Cavil lifting a Superman action figure into the frame and then bringing it back down.
